Privacy Policy – KB Guard for ServiceNow
Summary
KB Guard is a browser extension made by Exentis. It stops incidents in your ServiceNow instance from being resolved or closed until a knowledge article is linked. This page explains what data it touches.
What KB Guard doesn't do
KB Guard doesn't collect, sell, or share any personal or usage data. It has no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and it never sends data to Exentis or to anyone else. Exentis runs no server for this extension.
What it reads on your ServiceNow pages
When you open an incident form on a ServiceNow instance, KB Guard reads a few fields on that form in your browser:
- the incident state;
- the assignment group;
- the knowledge field (for example Knowledge Record).
It uses them only to decide whether the incident can be resolved. If it needs an article number it can't see on the page, it asks your own ServiceNow instance, using your existing signed-in session. Nothing leaves the connection between your browser and your instance.
What it stores
The following is saved only in your browser's extension storage:
- your settings (instance names, field name, assignment groups and their knowledge article numbers);
- two counters: incidents held, and incidents resolved with an article.
Settings may sync between your own browsers if browser sync is turned on. We (the publisher) never receive any of this data.
Retention and deletion
Data stays until you delete it. You can delete everything at any time in Settings > Data and privacy > Delete all data, or by removing the extension.
Permissions
- storage: save the settings and counters described above.
- Access to *.service-now.com: lets KB Guard run on ServiceNow incident forms. It doesn't run on other websites.
Children
The extension is a workplace tool and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
